Frequently Asked Questions

Can I be a student at Lincoln Literacy?

Any adult who lives in Lincoln or Lancaster County can be a student at Lincoln Literacy. We also can help 16- and 17- year-old people who are not in school.

Do I have to be a U.S. citizen or legal U.S. resident?

No. We are a private organization. We believe that it is in our community’s best interest that everyone living here be able to communicate in English and gain literacy skills.

What is the cost?

English classes and 1-1 tutoring is free. If you need a book for your class, we will supply it.

What will I get out of it?

Your English will get better if you attend classes and study. Your tutor and class will work together to learn English and literacy skills needed to reach goals. Many of our students get jobs or get better jobs, and achieve personal goals.
